A suitable mallet (also called a mallet) is the basic requirement for melodious, perfect gong playing.

For physical reasons, each gong has a mallet perfectly suited to its size, the flywheel mass of which is made up of a calculated ratio of mallet head, handle length and overall heaviness. For women, however, it is sometimes advisable to choose the mallets one size smaller, because they are quite heavy and after an hour of gong playing you notice that clearly.

We usually play with two mallets of different sizes in order to be able to call up a larger sound spectrum in the game. It is also advisable to experiment with different mallet sizes, as different mallets produce different tones, giving you the opportunity to discover the sound potential of the gongs in all its expressive possibilities.
